MADHUBANI PAINTING: The conserved ancient Indian art

BACKGROUND

Madhubani painting is one of the most famous ancient Indian art forms dating back to 2500 years. It was originally practiced in Mithila region of Northern India by women to decorate the houses, but its now a globally acclaimed art form. The paintings beautifully depict wedding celebrations, Hindu gods and flora & fauna. The painting technique involves use of natural color and pigments with nib pen, matchsticks and twigs.
